AMD Pushes Ryzen AI MAX 400 ‘Gorgon Halo’ to 192GB Memory, Letting a Single Chip Run 300B+ Parameter LLMs Locally

AMD unveiled the Ryzen AI MAX 400 family, a new Gorgon Halo APU line built with Zen 5 CPU cores, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and XDNA 2 NPU support.

The chips support up to 192GB of unified memory and up to 160GB of GPU-addressable memory, targeting large local AI models and workstation workloads.

The lineup includes three SKUs, led by the Ryzen AI Max+ 495, positioning the platform for on-device inference without a discrete GPU or cloud access.

OEM systems from ASUS, HP, and Lenovo are expected in Q3 2026.
