Sega's "Super Game" is canceled, but classic reboots live on

Sega has canceled its long-teased Super Game after rethinking its free-to-play strategy.

More than 100 developers from the effort have been reassigned to other full-game projects.

The company is now focusing on new or rebooted entries in Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Virtua Fighter, and Alien: Isolation.

The shift signals a broader retreat from risky games-as-a-service ambitions and a return to Sega’s strongest classic IPs.
