Mistral Secures $830m Debt to Build Paris AI Hub, Deepening Europe’s Push for Tech Sovereignty

French AI firm Mistral raised $830 million in debt to build a data center near Paris.

The Paris facility will use 13,800 Nvidia GB300 GPUs and provide 44 megawatts of compute capacity.

Mistral plans to expand to 200 megawatts of AI infrastructure across Europe by 2027 to support local model hosting and data sovereignty.

A consortium of seven global banks including BNP Paribas, HSBC and Crédit Agricole CIB backed the financing.
