NVIDIA said GPU progress is outpacing Moore’s law as it pushes a stronger AI and HPC roadmap.

At GTC 2018 in Taiwan, the company unveiled HGX-2, an accelerator platform built around 16 Tesla V100 GPUs.

HGX-2 uses NVSwitch and roughly half a terabyte of memory, targeting large-scale deep learning and supercomputing.

NVIDIA expects OEMs and cloud providers such as Lenovo and Supermicro to adopt the system.

The company also teased an upcoming Hot Chips session on its next mainstream GPU.
