Scientists Say They’ve Found “Dark Points” That Move Faster Than the Speed of Light

An international team published a Nature paper reporting 'dark points'—zero-amplitude vortices—inside light fields.

They used a modified high-speed electron microscope to record events over 3 quadrillionths of a second and stacked hundreds of images into timelapses.

The timelapses showed these vortices sometimes moving faster than light, but the authors say the vortices carry no mass or information and do not violate relativity.
