What's Happening With the HomePod Mini 2? All the Current Rumors

Apple introduced the HomePod mini in October 2020; it got a color refresh in 2021 and the $99 model is now over 2,000 days old.

Apple is developing a HomePod mini 2, which is expected to look much like the original.

New color options are expected for the mini 2, and a red variant has been tested.

The current mini uses the S5 Apple Watch chip; the next model is expected to use an S9-class or later processor, with S9–S11 offering similar performance.

Connectivity should be at least Wi‑Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3; there are possibilities for an N1 chip (Wi‑Fi 7/Bluetooth 6/Thread), UWB 2, and a potential full-size HomePod update.
