A first (and second) look at the Android XR glasses launching this year

Google previewed Project Aura, a mixed-reality Android XR glasses prototype with a new compute puck, adaptive transparency, and laptop display mirroring.

The company also showed first designs for lighter Android XR audio glasses made with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Those glasses are expected to launch this fall, signaling Google’s push beyond headset-style devices.

The demos suggest Android XR is moving toward more practical, everyday wearable computing and portable screen sharing.
