Android Auto is getting massive music app redesigns, starting with these apps [Gallery]

Google previewed a major Android Auto media-app redesign at Google I/O 2026, adding new layout components for car-friendly interfaces.

The update includes expanded headers, spotlight sections, progress bars, chips, and an adaptive mini-player.

Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Gaana, PocketFM, and TuneIn are among the first apps expected to adopt the new design system.

Google says the Car App Library changes should give developers more flexibility and users richer browsing and playback controls.
