Your Android phone is about to get much better at blocking scams

Google is rolling out new Android security features to curb scams, malware, and account takeovers.

The updates can verify financial calls, block spoofed bank calls, and hide one-time passwords from most apps.

Chrome will scan APK downloads, while Live Threat Detection will flag suspicious app and message behavior.

Android 17 and later will gain stronger default protections, including USB protection, intrusion logging, OS verification, and 2G attack defenses.
