Free beta release begins for 'Studio Code,' an AI coding CLI tool for WordPress

WordPress.com has launched Studio Code in beta, a free terminal-based AI coding assistant built specifically for WordPress development.

It can read and edit code, run commands, start local sites, work with block themes, verify block markup in the browser, and manage plugins, themes, and content organization.

The tool aims to give WordPress developers a more specialized workflow than general-purpose AI coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor CLI.

WordPress.com says Studio Code is free to try for now and is gathering feedback before deciding its long-term direction.
