Gemini Intelligence has high Android spec requirements, likely won’t support Pixel 9 or Galaxy Z Fold 7

Google has outlined hardware requirements for Gemini Intelligence on Android, including a flagship chip, at least 12GB of RAM, AI Core support, and Gemini Nano v3 or newer.

Based on current device lists, many recent premium phones such as the Pixel 9 lineup and Galaxy Z Fold 7 appear to only support Gemini Nano v2 for now.

That means Google’s latest on-device AI features may be limited to newer flagship Android devices, rather than rolling out broadly to recent high-end models.

The stricter requirements could leave some current flagship owners waiting for upgrades or new hardware to access Gemini’s newest capabilities.
