DoorDash wants to eventually deliver your food order by drone

DoorDash received FAA Part 135 air carrier certification for DoorDash Air, clearing the company for commercial drone deliveries in the U.S.

The service will start with small pilots and focus on three- to five-mile orders, with a planned launch in fall 2026.

DoorDash says DoorDash Air will work alongside partners like Wing, Flytrex, and Dot rather than replace them.

If successful, the program could speed up mid-distance deliveries, ease driver shortages, and broaden DoorDash’s autonomous delivery options.
