The UK is looking to a “hybrid navy” for the future. Navantia already has an autonomous proposal: the LASV75

Navantia UK unveiled LASV75 at Farnborough as a 75-meter modular, uncrewed surface ship concept for the Royal Navy.

Designed for autonomy from the outset, it could be configured for surveillance, escort, electronic warfare, and other mission roles.

The concept supports the Royal Navy’s move toward a hybrid fleet mixing crewed ships with autonomous escorts.

Navantia UK is also expanding its UK industrial base after acquiring Harland & Wolff assets and upgrading four shipyards.
