Windows 11’s New Low Latency Profile Pushes Your CPU Into Short Overclocking Bursts To Kill Start Menu Stutter

Microsoft is adding a new Low Latency Profile to Windows 11 via optional update KB5089573 for 24H2 and 25H2.

The feature briefly raises CPU frequency during latency-sensitive tasks to make the system feel more responsive.

It is not enabled by default, but eligible PCs can get it through the optional update or be force-enabled with ViveTool.

Early tests suggest smoother Start menu opening and faster shell interactions, though with higher CPU usage.
