Google's processed token volume reaches 3,200 trillion per month, up 7-fold in one year

At Google I/O 2026, Sundar Pichai said Google processed 3,200 trillion tokens in May 2026.

That is up from 480 trillion in May 2025 and 9.7 trillion in May 2024.

The surge signals rapidly growing AI usage across developers and Google Cloud customers.

Google says it is moving into the era of agentic Gemini.
