Guangdong’s two major airports are now connected - 36Kr

Guangdong will open the Zhuliao–Xintang South section of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway at noon on July 31.

The new segment adds seven stations and links with existing intercity lines, creating a direct rail connection between Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and Shenzhen Bao'an Airport.

Travel between the two airports will take about 100 minutes at the fastest, improving mobility across Guangzhou, Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.

The line is also seen as a practical foundation for future construction of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen second high-speed railway.
