OpenAI ends exclusive partnership with Microsoft, AWS welcomes models

OpenAI and Microsoft revised their partnership, ending Microsoft’s exclusive cloud rights while keeping Azure as OpenAI’s primary host.

The new deal makes Microsoft’s IP license non-exclusive and changes revenue-sharing terms, giving OpenAI more flexibility to work with other cloud providers.

AWS says OpenAI models will soon be available on its platform, expanding distribution beyond Azure.

The restructuring supports OpenAI’s broader shift toward a commercial setup and potential IPO plans.
