Uber and WeRide ramp up robotaxi operations in Dubai

Uber and WeRide began running robotaxis without human safety operators in Dubai that riders can book through the Uber app.

The service covers commercial, industrial, suburban areas and Al Hamriya Port and is operated locally by Tawasul.

Uber holds a 5.82% stake in WeRide, invested $100 million last year, and its equity stake is valued at about $150 million.
