Ricoh Japan’s internal core system suffers outage due to damaged communication lines; “not a cyberattack”

Ricoh Japan’s internal core business systems went down after communication equipment linked to a data center was damaged.

The company said there was no unauthorized access or cyberattack, and it found no evidence of data leakage.

Ricoh began replacing the damaged equipment and aimed to fully restore operations the following day.

The outage disrupted major systems and delayed deliveries of some supplies and equipment to customers.
