Logitech to ship mice with replaceable batteries in Europe only, following Nintendo

Logitech said some mice will get user-replaceable lithium-ion batteries in Europe to comply with an EU rule taking effect in 2027.

The change is Europe-only, leaving other markets unchanged, and reflects how local regulations are reshaping hardware design.

Logitech’s gaming head said sealed batteries can make mice sturdier and safer, likening the move to Nintendo’s Europe-only Switch 2 battery changes.

He also said Logitech does not expect a near-term follow-up to its G Cloud handheld.
