Why Instagram was turning some users' photos black and white

Instagram users reported a bug that made some uploaded color photos appear black and white.

Instagram said the issue affected some HDR uploads, including from iPhone Auto HDR, and that it has now been fixed.

The company said affected images should return to normal after a few hours.
