YouTube knows it is getting harder and harder to tell a real video from an AI-generated one: that is why it has a new plan

YouTube will no longer rely only on creators to label AI-generated videos; it will add automatic labels when it detects significant photorealistic AI use.

The disclosure notices will also be moved to more visible positions in both long-form videos and Shorts.

The system will focus on realistic or substantially altered content, rather than all AI-assisted videos.

The move aims to cut confusion and misinformation as AI-generated content rapidly grows on YouTube and Shorts.
