Humanoid Robots and Robot Pets Are No Longer Welcome on Southwest Flights

Southwest Airlines has banned humanoid and animal-like robots from both cabins and checked baggage.

The policy change, effective May 15, cites lithium-ion battery fire risk and safety concerns.

Some other robots may still be allowed if they meet carry-on size limits and battery rules.

The airline pointed to recent onboard incidents, including robots such as Unitree Bebop and Stewie.
