DARPA solicits swarm-capable, automated robotic medics to treat battlefield casualties

DARPA has launched a solicitation for swarm-capable robotic medics that can assess injuries and deliver frontline trauma care in combat zones.

The systems are intended to perform tasks like hemorrhage control, IV access, and other urgent interventions without real-time human control.

The goal is to stabilize wounded troops before evacuation, especially where human medics cannot safely reach them during the golden hour.

If successful, the program could improve survival rates, but major technical, ethical, and legal hurdles remain.
