Sega Cancels Its 'Super Game' Plan

Sega has cancelled its long-planned “Super Game” initiative in its fiscal 2026 results.

The company cited weak free-to-play and live-service performance, plus problems at Rovio, as reasons for the shift.

More than 100 employees are being reassigned to other projects as Sega pulls back from risky games-as-a-service bets.

The company now appears focused on established franchises and transmedia efforts such as game revivals and film projects.
