Taxi service ‘Uber Assist’ that allows passengers to board while in a wheelchair starts in Tokyo, with no extra charge

Uber Japan launched Uber Assist in Tokyo on April 15, allowing wheelchair users to book accessible taxis through the Uber app.

The service requires no reservations or added fees and uses standard taxi fares.

It also helps parents with strollers and pregnant passengers who need easier boarding.

Uber Assist operates in Tokyo’s 23 wards, Musashino, and Mitaka with trained drivers and regular taxi vehicles, including Toyota JPN TAXI.
