Google Gemini’s new thinking level lets you dial up the brainpower

Google is testing a new Gemini “Thinking Level” setting that would let users choose how deeply the app reasons before answering.

The control appears similar to options already available in Google AI Studio, giving users a speed-versus-depth tradeoff.

Google is also reportedly exploring more third-party app integrations for Gemini, including services like Spotify, WhatsApp, Canva, Instacart, and OpenTable.

The company may also impose weekly usage limits for free users, signaling a more capable but potentially more restricted free tier.
