An AI agent just designed a complete RISC-V CPU from scratch in 12 hours

Verkor.io says its agentic AI system autonomously designed a five-stage, in-order RISC-V CPU core called VerCore in 12 hours.

The company claims the flow went from specification to GDSII output and simulation validation, using tools and benchmarks such as CoreMark, Spike, and ASAP7 PDK.

If confirmed, the result would mark a notable step in autonomous AI chip design.

But the CPU has not been fabricated or independently verified yet, so the announcement remains preliminary.
