Cmi built a hybrid live streaming stack for 4K low-latency broadcasts, aiming for sub-4-second delivery.

1080p is handled by Amazon IVS managed channels, while 4K uses in-house RTMP transcoding and CloudFront-based HLS.

The design was sized for up to 10,000 concurrent viewers and includes an event-processing pipeline for live operations.

The approach shows how a small team can keep standard streaming on managed services and build only the differentiated 4K real-time layer in-house.
