Call of Duty never made much sense for Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft cut Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from $29.99 to $22.99 per month.

But future Call of Duty releases will no longer launch on Game Pass day one.

The shift is meant to lower subscription costs while protecting premium Call of Duty sales.

Microsoft says the day-one experiment did not significantly boost subscriptions and hurt game revenue.
