PS5 fans brace for another price hike, and rising memory costs are likely to blame

PS5 prices in Europe are set to rise by up to €100, with increases described as imminent.

Confirmed increases: PS5 Slim Disc €549.99 → €649.99; PS5 Pro €799.99 → €899.99; PS Portal €219.99 → €249.99.

PS5 Slim Digital is currently €499.99 and could be raised to €599.99.

This would be the third price hike for the PS5 family since launch, after increases in 2022 and 2025.

The cited reason is surging memory costs; shortages have driven up SSD, GPU and hard drive prices, and Google announced TurboQuant to reduce LLM memory footprint.
