Rust's Spring Clean update nerfs the shield meta and boosts early game energy

Facepunch released the Rust Spring Clean update, which is live now and includes a timed Easter Egg Hunt until April 16.

The patch adds a Water Wheel that can generate up to 30 power and an Armored Ladder Hatch craftable at tier three.

Shields now only expand their larger blocking hitbox while held up, and a recoil bug with shooting shields was fixed.

New quality-of-life features include tech-tree unlock chaining, a radial light toggle menu, overfishing limits, and a new terrain renderer to improve CPU performance.
