DeepMind details Googlebook “Magic Pointer” with demos you can try, also coming to Gemini in Chrome

Google DeepMind showcased a prototype AI-powered pointer that understands what users are pointing at and why it matters.

In AI Studio demos, the pointer was used for image editing and location search, combining pointing with speech and visual context.

Google said Gemini in Chrome will soon let users query selected webpage content with the pointer.

The feature points to a more intuitive interaction model that could reduce prompt friction across Google’s AI tools and everyday apps.
