The US gets the worst phones

US smartphone buyers are seeing slower hardware progress from Apple, Samsung, and Google than rivals in China.

Chinese makers are moving faster on silicon-carbon batteries, fast charging, and camera hardware upgrades.

That leaves many newer battery and camera features common in China still uncommon in the US market.

The gap could push Apple and other US-focused brands to accelerate innovation in future models.
