U.S. storage vendor CEO says semiconductor component procurement costs have surged 4x to 10x, driving price increases

Everpure said the procurement cost of key semiconductor components has surged 300% to 900% in a year.

As a result, the company is raising product prices by an average of 70%.

CEO Charles Giancarlo warned that strong AI demand could keep this high-cost environment in place for several years.

The spike in chip costs may continue to push up storage and server prices, affecting enterprise IT budgets and buying plans.
