Google is giving Search Live a much-needed glow-up

Google is testing a visual redesign for Search Live in the Google app, first spotted in version 17.20 by 9to5Google.

The new look removes the bottom arc waveform and expands Search Live into a full-screen experience.

When Search Live is responding, the screen edges now pulse with dynamic colors while existing controls stay available.

Caption, transcript, video, mute, and feedback buttons remain in place, and the change likely points to a server-side rollout.

The update could improve usability for video and help boost awareness of a Google AI feature that has seen limited adoption.
