JSR to build Taiwan’s first photoresist plant to co-develop advanced resists with TSMC — multi-million dollar plant could come online as early as 2028

JSR, a major photoresist maker with about 20% global share, is building its first Taiwan plant through a joint venture.

The facility could open as early as 2028 and is intended to supply and co-develop advanced photoresists with TSMC.

Local production would speed collaboration on EUV and high-NA EUV materials, helping JSR close the gap with Japanese rivals already in Taiwan.

JSR is also expanding metal oxide resist production in South Korea to strengthen its semiconductor materials business.
