Samsung patent shows a laptop with a clever touch-sensitive palmrest for shortcuts

Samsung has filed a laptop patent for a touch-sensitive palmrest system that changes what keys do based on hand position.

When your hands are on the palmrest, the same keys could trigger shortcuts like copy, paste, undo, or media controls instead of typing letters.

The concept aims to make common commands simpler and reduce reliance on modifier keys such as Ctrl, Shift, and Alt.

It is only an early patent idea, with no sign yet that Samsung plans to turn it into a real product.
