Parkout, the app connecting drivers to parking spaces in Athens

Athens has launched Parkout, a free peer-to-peer parking app that connects drivers in real time.

When a driver leaves a space, nearby drivers looking for parking are alerted instantly.

The app works without sensors or extra infrastructure and is available on Android and iOS.

It is currently limited to areas outside Athens’ controlled parking zones.

Supporters say it could cut search time, traffic congestion, and emissions in the city.
