AMD EPYC Verano CPUs Will Support LPDDR5X SOCAMM2 Memory For Perf/Watt “Optimized” AI Rack Scale Solutions

AMD said its 6th Gen EPYC Verano CPUs will be the first EPYC chips to support SOCAMM2 LPDDR5X memory.

SOCAMM2 is a compact memory format designed to improve bandwidth and power efficiency in AI rack-scale servers.

Verano is expected in 2027 and will pair with future Instinct accelerators, including MI500-class parts.

The move strengthens AMD’s AI server roadmap, but it may add pressure to an already tight LPDDR supply chain.
