Sony announces the high-end smartphone "Xperia 1 VIII," with a telephoto camera sensor size quadrupled, wired earphones support, and expandable storage via microSD card

Sony has announced the Xperia 1 VIII, its new flagship smartphone.

It features a larger telephoto camera sensor, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a wired headphone jack, and microSD expansion.

The phone also includes long-term OS and security updates, plus camera and display protections like ZEISS T coating and Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

It is scheduled to go on sale on June 11, 2026.
