Serious Vulnerability "Dirty Frag" Affects Major Linux Distributions

A new Linux kernel privilege-escalation technique called Dirty Frag has been disclosed, combining xfrm-ESP and RxRPC flaws.

The issue reportedly affects nearly all major Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, RHEL, Fedora, openSUSE, CentOS Stream, and AlmaLinux.

Attackers with local access may be able to obtain root privileges with a high success rate and little system instability on failure.

The finding raises broad root-compromise risk across Linux environments and underscores the need for patches and mitigation.
