Assassin's Creed Black Flag real-world treasure hunt is on the way with a staggering prize

Ubisoft and French startup Unsolved Hunts are launching a real-world treasure hunt tied to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The event, called Gold & Crystal: The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway, will use encrypted clues, maps, and puzzles that may unfold over years.

The hunt could end with a $500,000 prize package buried somewhere in the Caribbean.

The promotion turns the game’s launch into a long-running fan event and high-profile marketing stunt.
