Perplexity Opens Up Its Personal Computer AI Assistant To All Mac Users

Perplexity has expanded its Personal Computer AI assistant from the $200-per-month Max plan to all Mac users.

The macOS app can answer queries, handle attachments and dictation, and work across local files, other apps, the web, and Perplexity’s servers.

The assistant uses different models for different tasks and does most of its processing in the cloud.

Perplexity is positioning the tool as a Siri alternative while keeping compute-heavy work off the device.
