These Kindle models will lose Kindle Store access on May 20

Amazon announced (reported by The Verge) that select Kindle e-readers and Fire tablets from 2012 and earlier will lose Kindle Store purchase, borrow, and download access on May 20.

Affected e-readers include Kindle 1st Generation, Kindle DX and DX Graphite, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle 4, Kindle Touch, Kindle 5, and Kindle Paperwhite 1st Generation.

Affected Fire tablets include Kindle Fire 1st Generation, Kindle Fire 2nd Generation, Kindle Fire HD 7, and Kindle Fire HD 8.9.

Devices on the list will see limited wireless connectivity and reduced online functionality.

Content already downloaded to an affected device will remain on the device and stay readable after the outage.
