Volkswagen stops building ID.4s in the US, has inventory "into 2027"

Volkswagen has stopped building the ID.4 in the United States.

The Chattanooga plant in Tennessee is being shifted to Atlas SUV production.

Volkswagen says dealer inventory can meet ID.4 demand into 2027.

The newer post-refresh ID.4 models are more powerful and more efficient than earlier cars.

Volkswagen says a future ID.4 version is planned for the North American market.
