Russia has just switched on its largest wind farm, built almost entirely with domestically made parts

Russia has commissioned its largest wind farm, Novolakskaya in Dagestan, reaching 300 MW after the second phase came online.

Built by Rosatom, the project uses 120 turbines and stands out for its high share of domestically made components.

The wind farm is expected to ease power shortages in Dagestan while creating infrastructure and jobs in the region.

The project also underscores Russia’s push to expand renewables and reduce dependence on foreign technology amid sanctions.
