Tesla reveals two Robotaxi crashes involving teleoperators

Tesla’s newly unredacted NHTSA filings show at least two low-speed Robotaxi crashes in Austin since July 2025.

In both cases, remote teleoperators took control before the vehicles hit obstacles; the reports also mention other minor incidents in Tesla’s early Robotaxi network.

The disclosures provide a clearer look at the risks in Tesla’s autonomous ride-hailing rollout and may help explain the company’s cautious expansion pace.
