YouTube to Automatically Detect AI-Generated Content and Show Labels Without Creators Reporting It

YouTube will expand AI-content labeling in 2026 with clearer label placement and new internal detection signals.

The platform will automatically label notable realistic AI-generated or AI-altered videos, even if creators do not disclose them.

The update is meant to improve transparency for viewers and reduce reliance on creator self-reporting.
