Digital Agency announces that Sakura Cloud has met all technical requirements for Government Cloud, and is officially selected for Government Cloud

Japan’s Digital Agency has selected five cloud services for the 2026 Government Cloud buildout, including Sakura Internet’s Sakura Cloud.

Sakura Cloud was confirmed to have met all 305 technical requirements ahead of schedule.

It can now begin providing production environments from March 27, 2026.

The decision gives Japan’s government more cloud procurement options and strengthens digital sovereignty and domestic data infrastructure.
